Brief Descriptions

Dual Reflective
Dual Reflective window films have a reflective exterior for superior heat rejection and low interior reflectance for better nighttime visibility. They can provide daytime privacy and glare reduction. They are the best choice for projects that require heat and glare reduction.

Reflective
Reflective window film is great for heat reduction. It has a sleek look, provides daytime privacy and decreases glare. It is the low cost option for heat and glare reduction.

Neutral
Neutral window films primarily work by heat absorption which makes them less efficient at reducing heat compared to Reflective or Dual Reflective tints. They are less reflective with a grey appearance. They are classified as ceramic window film.

Spectrally Selective
Spectrally Selective films are great for blocking infrared heat while allowing a lot of natural light to enter the building. They are nearly undetectable and perfect when you need high heat rejection without shading the interior or modifying the window’s appearance.

Anti-Graffiti Film
Anti-Graffiti film is a thick, clear film that protects glass from vandalism and accidental damage. It can help you avoid the hassle and expense of glass and mirror replacement.

      What The Numbers Means

Darker tint blocks more heat and glare and provides more daytime privacy.
      5% - Very Dark
      15% - Dark
      20% - Medium Dark
      25% - Medium
      30% - Medium Light
      35% - Medium Light
      40% - Light
      50% - Very Light
      70% - Nearly Undetectable

There are four categories of sun control window film. Each category has several shades. Visible Light Transmission (VLT) is the amount of visible light that passes through the tint. Lower numbers indicate less visible light passes through the film. A film rated 05 is very dark, a 25-35 is “medium” and film with 40% VLT or higher are “light” films.

Dark tint offers better glare reduction, daytime privacy and is usually better at blocking heat. A film rated 15 lets 15% of the visible light through decreasing glare by 85%. A film rated 05 allows 5% of the visible light through and decreases glare by 95%.

      The Right Choice.

Customers use window tint to fix sun related problems: Reduce heat or glare, improve daytime privacy or block UV rays. Window tinting can solve sun related problems and makes interiors more livable. When selecting your window film consider that the highest heat reduction will come with exterior reflectance and lower visible light transmission. Lighter tints (40%-70% VLT) reduce heat gain, but for high heat reduction you will want a film that comes with a higher measure of exterior reflectance and a reduction in visible light transmission. The same is true with privacy. To get good daytime privacy choose darker film with less than 35% visible light transmission and a more reflective exterior.
